About Us
Our mission is to improve the health and quality of life of Canadians suffering from Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC).
Through
Research
Provide financial support to individuals and organizations carrying out research with respect to AHC, ATP1A3, and related neurosciences that will contribute to development of treatments or therapies for AHC patients.
Through Access
to Treatment
Work with government and healthcare providers to provide centres for clinical trials and to improve the scope, availability and efficacy of drugs and treatments available to Canadian AHC patients.
Through
Education
Increase AHC awareness with the Canadian public and support healthcare providers with developing the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to meet the complex needs of AHC patients.
Through Patient
and Family Support
Help Canadian AHC patients and families navigate new diagnosis by providing access to peer support opportunities, providing information regarding applicable government support programs, and connecting with the appropriate local healthcare providers.
We are an AHC family-organized and volunteer based federally incorporated non-profit organization in Canada. Please note that it is not the intention of Aubrey’s Hope for a Cure to use any donations or other proceeds for the care or treatment of individual AHC patients, including Aubrey. All donations and other proceeds will be put towards the activities described above with every effort made to minimize operational costs.
